All PPVA volunteers must have completed the Park Police Volunteer Academy. Volunteer services include walking or bike riding the many trails in the County to extend the "cycs and cars" of the Park Police. We also provide fingerprinting of citizens and children at Headquarters and at many community events. We assist with traffic and crowd control at festivals. From our booth, we hand out brochures and talk to the public about the services and programs of the Park Police and our organization. Volunteers feed and groom the horses used by the mounted unit of the Park Police. They may also help in writing to obtain grant money to further the operation of the department. For more information, call 301-429-5623, voice mail 601.
